The Armor of God (ENGLISH: Jubilee Bible 2000)

ENGLISH: Jubilee Bible 2000

Ephesians 6:10-18

10 ¶ Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might.

11 Put on the whole armour of God that ye may be able to stand firm against the wiles of the devil.

12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the lords of this age, rulers of this darkness, against spiritual wickedness in the heavens.

13 Therefore, take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day and stand fast, all the work having been finished.

14 Stand firm, therefore, having your loins girt about with truth and having on the breastplate, of righteousness,

15 and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace,

16 above all, taking the shield of faith, with which ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

17 And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;

18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit and watching in this with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints

23 tolerance and self-control—and no law exists against any of them.

Ephesians 6:10-18

10 In conclusion be strong—not in yourselves but in the Lord, in the power of his boundless resource.

11 Put on God’s complete armour so that you can successfully resist all the devil’s methods of attack.

12 For our fight is not against any physical enemy: it is against organisations and powers that are spiritual. We are up against the unseen power that controls this dark world, and spiritual agents from the very headquarters of evil.

13 Therefore you must wear the whole armour of God that you may be able to resist evil in its day of power, and that even when you have fought to a standstill you may still stand your ground.

14 Take your stand then with truth as your belt, righteousness your breastplate,

15 the Gospel of peace firmly on your feet,

16 salvation as your helmet and in your hand the sword of the Spirit, the Word of God.

17 Above all be sure you take faith as your shield, for it can quench every burning missile the enemy hurls at you.

18 Pray at all times with every kind of spiritual prayer, keeping alert and persistent as you pray for all Christ’s men and women.

Matthew 6:9-13

9 Pray then like this—‘Our Heavenly Father, may your name be honoured;

10 May your kingdom come, and your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

11 Give us this day the bread we need,

12 Forgive us what we owe to you, as we have also forgiven those who owe anything to us.

13 Keep us clear of temptation, and save us from evil’.”

The Beatitudes (ENGLISH: J.B. Phillips Bible NT)

10 Beatitudes

ENGLISH: J.B. Phillips Bible NT

Matthew 5:3-12

3 “How happy are the humble-minded, for the kingdom of Heaven is theirs!

4 “How happy are those who know what sorrow means for they will be given courage and comfort!

5 “Happy are those who claim nothing, for the whole earth will belong to them!

6 “Happy are those who are hungry and thirsty for goodness, for they will be fully satisfied!

7 “Happy are the merciful, for they will have mercy shown to them!

8 “Happy are the utterly sincere, for they will see God!

9 “Happy are those who make peace, for they will be sons of God!

10 “Happy are those who have suffered persecution for the cause of goodness, for the kingdom of Heaven is theirs!

11 “And what happiness will be yours when people blame you and ill-treat you and say all kinds of slanderous things against you for my sake!

12 Be glad then, yes, be tremendously glad—for your reward in Heaven is magnificent. They persecuted the prophets before your time in exactly the same way.
